St Edward’s Primary School

ForPark PlayWorks For schools and early childhood

The brief for this project was to create a nature playground that maximised the existing clearings and natural features, whilst blending into the bush surrounds.

Brief

This school is a vibrant educational community situated on eight hectares of land, with a variety of learning spaces, play zones and environment areas. The brief for this project was to create a nature playground that maximised the existing clearings and natural features, whilst blending into the bush surrounds.

Range

The key to this design was creating a series of interconnected play spaces that encouraged exploratory play across a variety of activities. A stage deck, storytelling chair, freestanding chalkboard and yarning circle log seats create an outdoor classroom, encouraging teachers and students to spend more time learning outdoors. Tactile sculptures feature local wildlife including a curlew, koala, echidna and frilled neck lizard.
